We are happy to tell you that Saturday will be the day we will write about simple tips to get you moving and changing your life in a positive way. This week I will address an important issue: time. Here are the first 5 tips to have more time right now!
Turn off the TV
Television can be useful for learning, but let’s face it, most of the time it’s just plain noise filling the room, or some useless reality show. It can be hard to stop watching it, but you can reduce the time you spend in front of it. Just watch 30 minutes less of TV to start. So cut that show that you wanted to let go and you will be ok. I did it and I’m a hardcore gamer, so I bet you can do it.
Batch non interesting tasks
I truly hate to wash dishes, so I just batch the whole thing. once 5 items are dirty I go and wash them right away. No thinking no procrastination just action. So set yourself a nice trigger to start. Instead of 5 dishes it can be anything, if you don’t like to run errands, do 2 or 3 on one go. Just find a simple way to batch them and don’t think just do!
Get your headphones and start working
You won’t believe me how much you can get done once you shut the noise out. Also if you are in a busy environment people tend to just leave you alone if they see you working with headphones on. Two extra ideas inside this one. Listen to some audio course or podcast and learn something new, or just don’t listen at anything at all, people will think you are listening to something and just stop bothering you. You end up focusing in work, finishing it earlier and having more time, all are awesome!
Just focus on one thing at a time. Once a long time ago I truly believed I could do 10 things at a time, well that is just a huge lie. Don’t make my mistake and go after a lot of things at the same time. Just focus on one at at a time. the result is amazing, you will finish tasks faster and end up with more time in your hands. Remember, one thing at a time will earn you more time.
Just get the big one out of the way
Fact: Some tasks are boring and horrible. Another fact: Getting it out of the way as fast as you can will get you momentum. That’s right, momentum is that awesome thing that gets you in the zone and the most horrible task is the one that gives the most momentum. So wake up, do that horrible task and then enjoy a light day with more time and a laser like focus!
Bonus: Rest more!
No, I’m not kidding. Resting more will give you more energy that can help you take on bigger challenges, also a good night’s sleep can do wonders for creativity. As a former night owl, I thought that working all night long was a great way to advance, but that is another lie. If you rest well you will wake up with energy and your brain at full capacity which will help you tackle more tasks with ease. As a side effect, you will look better!
