I have talked about becoming a modern day warrior. We have invited guests that have developed a powerful warrior spirit. It’s time for you to start your journey and learn how to be a warrior.
A warrior is not a leaf in the wind being pushed around by circumstances. A warrior is not a victim.
A true warrior has his destiny in his hands. He knows where he wants to go and will always find a way to reach that place, his life is devoted to growth. He lives in the present moment, the past can’t harm him, and the future is full of possibility.
To become a warrior, you need to create a framework in your life, one that will empower you to reach your dreams.

Growing strong roots
You can’t build a skyscraper without a powerful foundation. A great tree doesn’t grow tall without huge and powerful roots. Your life is the same.
To start your journey and learn how to become a warrior, you need to create a solid foundation. It should help you reach your goals, and be strong enough to keep you safe.
First of all you need to start owning your actions. To avoid feeling like a victim you need to own everything you do, both good and bad, victories and defeats.
Nobody likes to own their defeats, but they are stepping stones, hard lessons you need to learn. It’s easier said than done, but you need to let go of the dark defeating feelings, and only embrace the lessons to stand up again and keep going forward.
When you have a victory, own it completely. It’s yours, but don’t let it lift you into the sky where you start looking at people as if they were inferior. That is not the way. To avoid this pitfall, enjoy your victory, know that it’s yours, but note that it doesn’t make you better than anyone else. It’s another step, that will lift you towards your goals.
Once you create a solid base like this one, it’s time to face change.
Embracing the power of water
You may have heard that water is life, and it’s true. Hidden in it, you will find the true lesson: just like water, you can adapt to change.
Change is scary, after all humans are creatures of habit. You have your own daily routine, I have my own. When something changes, like the closing of the street that you take to work, that may create conflict.
To continue in your journey, you need to start looking at change in a different way. Change is not something that should worry you, it should be a moment when you can look for opportunities to grow.
Your powerful roots need water experiences to help you grow. They come in the form of change, embracing a flexible mind will allow you to be ready at any moment to spot those opportunities that life throws at you.
Open your eyes. Breathe deeply. Listen to what surrounds you. Allow the world to speak to you. Let it tell you how to be a warrior.
Let your mind know, that you are looking for opportunities. This will create a curious effect where you will start finding the right sources to help you in your journey.
You will start noticing that the world around you starts moving slower, allowing you to spot the opportunities that you are looking for.
With the solid foundation of owning your actions, you will need to develop the next step, a conscious mind that avoids being reactive to the environment, and starts being proactive.
You need to understand that looking at your problems for hours is not helpful, it’s only a way to feel overwhelmed. Instead, take a minute to shift your mind towards solutions, ask yourself: How can I change this situation?
Answering “I don’t know” is not fair, you need to give a real answer like “I can visit my friend John for some advice”. There is always an action you can take, learn to find it.
Learning to make this shift will allow you to solve things faster, with less stress and anxiety. You will be in charge.
When you start feeling more confident with this skill it’s time to move one step forward, and discover what makes you tick.
Discovering your passions
Do you know what makes you happy just by doing it? Can you tell me what brings you joy? What would you do if you had nothing else to do?
Don’t worry if you don’t know, a few years ago I didn’t have a clue.
To discover what makes you feel alive, you need to start looking around, questions are not enough, you need experiences. And with experiences comes a risk, the risk of making a mistake.
You created a solid foundation and developed ways to adapt in order to correct those mistakes as fast as you can, before they become a big problem. Knowing that, should help you be safe during this step.
You will need to go out and experiment things that you have always wanted to do, visit places that you wanted to see, and start creating a sense of discovering. Like when you were a kid and you loved to find things around the house.
Remember that this doesn’t mean you will leave your job, your family and everything behind, this is a point where you are learning about the world.
If you want to make big changes like leaving your work, and moving to that wonderful country that you heard about. You need to do it in a way that helps you grow, not running away from your life.
Running away will not show you how to become a warrior. Running away is the fastest way to be a victim.
Start small, allow yourself to discover little things, taking small but sustainable steps towards your passion. That way it will feel like you just found the reason why you want to wake up every morning and do the best you can.
You will glow and become one step closer to who you want to be.
Creating a connection with something bigger than yourself
In the terms of spirituality, I believe there is no right or wrong, there is no true religion or belief. Instead I think what makes you a better person and helps you achieve your dreams is the right belief for you.
Don’t just believe what you have been told, ask yourself if it helps you achieve your dreams. And be always looking for empowering beliefs, something that gives you that extra boost to reach your dreams.
If you don’t want to believe in a deity, don’t do it. I know people who believe in science, and that helps them grow. Some others believe in a particular religion, and that makes them a better person. Choose what it’s better for you.
In the same way, your knowledge is for you to choose. You are responsible of what you believe and study. You are responsible of your own knowledge and wisdom. You are responsible about learning how to be a warrior.
Never stop because there is a barrier that keeps the knowledge behind it, in our modern world you can learn from a lot of sources that are always willing to help you. We live in a world where you can create your own learning experience.
Learn from Kym, even before going to college, she was always studying and researching the topics she loved, it’s a pleasure to talk about art with her.
I learned by myself how to code and now I use this skill to help me in the world. If I can do it, so can you. Remember what a man has achieved, another one can do it too.
Discovering your warrior spirit
There is a warrior inside you, I have no doubt about it. Even if you don’t show it every minute, it’s inside you.
You may think you are not strong enough for this journey, but you are. You just need to know it, and embrace it to start.
A warrior knows he is a warrior, he knows what he can achieve and what he needs to learn to achieve what it’s currently out of his reach.
His life is aligned, what he values, what he believes, and he does, everything works in towards his goals. If you want to learn how to be a warrior, you must learn who you are.
With everything you have done in the previous steps, you will be able to find that perfect alignment. You will feel it’s pull, and sooner or later you will start applying everything, not in a conscious way, but in an unconscious automatic way.
That’s how you will know that you are a warrior.
Helping you along the road
I know it sounds hard, but I believe you can do it. You can be in control of your life. You can achieve your dreams.
I know there are moments in this journey that you may want to quit, that you will feel you are not good enough. That’s why Kym and I created a small book for you.
The book has 15 essays that will help you along the way, there are 3 essays for each of the steps above. You will also receive our weekly updates and have a super easy way to connect with us.

Love the analogy to water – there is something so powerful YET adaptable in that! Thank you for your reminder to stand strong and flexible as I consciously make my mark on this world!
